Lipstick
should enhance
the beauty of
the lips and
not appear like
a red gash at
the opening
of the mouth.
Always apply
lipstick with
a lipstick brush.
Draw the outer
line with the
brush or with
a lip pencil
and then fill
in the colour
with a lipstick.
A darker colour
should be used
to define the
lip' line and
a lighter shade
should be used
to fill in.
After application,
place a tissue
between the
lips and press.
This will remove
the excess colour.
To
give a neat
finish to your
lipstick, clean
your lipswit
cleansing milk.
Spread the foundation
over your lipsand
let it dry.
With your brush
coated with
lipstick, open
your mouth and
without stretching
your lips to
the maximum,
outline the
upper lip. Press
the lips together;
then use the
lipstick to
outline the
lower lip and
fill in with
the lipstick.
Take a tissue
and press your
lips over it.
Powder lightly
and start the
outlining again;
with the darker
lipstick on
your, brush,
correct the
natural defects
of your mouth;
the two shades
must melt into
each other.
Just as the
lips can be
designed according
to the shape
of the face,
they can be
made-up according
to the shape
of the mouth.
A
clever make-up
will definitely
help in altering
the appearance
of the mouth
and the face.
Lipstick should
be applied properly
and should be
of the right
color. Most
of you would
have noticed
that lipstick
does not last
long, especially
when we eat
and drink.
If
you have a drooping
mouth: powder
the corners
and emphasize
the dip at the
centre. Put
a touch of a
darker lipstick
at the corners
of the upper
lip; Finish
off with the
slightest trace
of Vaseline
or gloss at
the centre of
the mouth. Lipstick
will last longer
if you fill
in your lips
with the liner
first. If you're
using light
lipstick, try
a nude liner.
Then slick your
lipstick on
top.
If
your mouth is
too small: use
a darker shade
on the upper
lip, draw in
the cleft but
don't accentuate
it. The lower
lip should be
given a squarer
shape, with
a touch of gloss
or Vaseline
near the corners.
Apply lipstick
from the tube
or by using
a firm, small
lipstick brush.
Coat the lips
evenly. Pay
special attention
to staying within
the lips' edges.
If
your lips are
too thin: outline
the mouth well
and fully, going
a fraction beyond
the limits of
the lips. Use
the darker shade
on the lower
lip. Draw the
corners upwards,
outline the
cleft distinctly
and smile all
day. To balance
the appearance
of your lips
while lining
(before applying
lipstick), first,
divide the mouth
into sections,
and work on
one section
at a time until
all the dotted
lines are connected.
And be aware
that matte colors
make lips look
thinner while
shimmery, glossy
colors make
your lips look
fuller.
How
to Apply Lipstick
Applying
lipstick after
drawing a crisp
lip outline
is an important
key in the finishing
touch since
it helps to
keep the color
from bleeding.
If you have
pouting lips:
paint out the
dip. Accentuate
the depth of
the upper lip.
A slightly darker
shade for the
lower lip, drawn
a little within
the natural
contour of the
lip.
If
you want a glossy
look, use a
lip-gloss. But
take care not
to take the
gloss right
outside the
outer line of
the lips. You
can use lipstick
to camouflage
the short coming
of your mouth.
If your lips
are small, then
draw a line
outside the
natural line
and if your
lips are too
thick, the line
should be drawn
inside. A dark
colour will
make the lips
appear smaller
while a bright
or light colour
will do the
opposite. If
the lower lip
is thicker than
the upper one,
apply a darker
colour on the
lower one and
its shade on
the upper lip.
Lipsticks that
work best are
those that have
some of your
skin's natural
tones in their
colour such
as a blue-pinks
or yellow- browns.
Some Tips on
applying lipstick
properly:
- Lipstick
can be used
as blush,
but do not
use blush
as lipstick.
- Before
applying
lipstick,
prime your
lips with
some foundation
and powder
to remove
all color
from your
lips.
- Apply
all other
makeup before
putting
on lipstick
and lip
liner.
- Work
some lipstick
into a brush
and fill
the outline
of the lips.
Work gradually
towards
the outline;
don’t cover
it with
a lipstick.
- Use
your lip
liner as
a base for
your lipstick.
This will
ensure that
lipstick
lasts longer.
While using
light lipstick,
use nude
liner. Then
apply lipstick
on top of
it.
- Line
your lips
whenever
you use
lipstick.
Without
lipstick
your lips
will look
soft and
less defined
and your
lipstick
will appear
smudged.
- Check
whether
you are
not wearing
expired
lipstick.
It can also
be due to
dryness
and allergy.
For maintaining
red lips,
fresh air,
vitamins
and iron
are required.
